Vtttvpic The controversially launched Vator.tv was due to relaunch today, but most users visiting the home page will still see a “coming soon” splash page. But thanks to a link sent in from a tipster we squeezed our way into the newly designed site and discovered that the site has gone from bare bones video destination to Web 2.0 social media style site with shareable video, a better looking video player, a ratings system and the obligatory 3D buttons, pastel shades and “beta” included in the logo.

Co-founder Bambi Francisco said, "Since leaving my career at Dow Jones MarketWatch, there have been a lot of media reports characterizing Vator.tv as a place to link entrepreneurs and venture capitalists… While we're already seeing interest from investors in some of the ideas showcased on Vator.tv, this matchmaking is not what we're focused on or limited to."

Although the site looks much better, there was a certain charm to site’s first version that defied trends and just offered a stripped down presentation of video. That said, the new site will be much more useful. This will probably become one of my favorite video sites. Suddenly, Vator.tv looks like a big player in the video content space.
